About Guy Tang
Guy Tang was born on the 27th of July, 1981, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. Tang is an American national with Vietnamese and Chinese ancestry.
When he was 12 years old, the famous hair artist was enamored with hair. He enjoyed playing with barbies and ponies, but he had to pretend he was no longer interested in hair to fit in. He admits that it took him a long time to accept himself.
Tang revealed his homosexuality at the age of 27. He had been engaged to his ex-girlfriend for 11 years before announcing his sexual orientation. For a long time, he struggled to hide his orientation, but it was impossible.
Though Tang didn’t like to speak about his personal life, however, he shared how he met his husband, “I fell in love with him when we first met because he serenaded a @mariahcarey song to me called ‘Circles,’ which is an obscure song off her album.” They have been together since 2009.
Career
Tang had a girlfriend despite his confusion about his sexual orientation. He experimented with her hair, coloring it, correcting it, and photographing it. Then he went to beauty school, where he took clients on the side. His photographic abilities enabled him to generate stunning pics of his clients, which he subsequently shared on Facebook and Instagram. And then he was booked for three years. He first became famous for creating beachy blonde hair on dark-haired women, but he eventually acquired the nickname “Father of Balayage.” Tang used rose, orange lavender, and golden hues to create a voluminous and gorgeous hair for his hair besties.
